I am seriously thinking about setting up a computer for use as a juke box. This Computer Seems like it would work well for the purpous. I have lots of hard drives laying around and a pcmcia wireless card so that I could play streaming audio in addition to my mp3 collection.

Why Vector?
August 8, 2008I should put down an explanation about why I changed to Vector Linux. I Like to try new things. I had decided that I was going to set a dual boot between to versions of Linux. After downloading several different distributions including Arch, Crux and Vector Linux I adjusted my partition Layout to allow room for the second Distro. I began the process and quickly discovered that it was much more trouble then it was worth. I had far more problems trying to dual boot two Linux distros then I ever had dual booting windows and Linux. I just could not make it work so I nuked the Ubuntu install and installed Arch followed by Crux and found them both to be way more complicated then I wanted to deal with. I then tried to install Ubuntu with a separate home partition and the Ubuntu installer threw a fit and would not let me continue past the partitioning phase. So I threw that out and installed Vector Linux with that format and it gave me no problems. I am using the basic version which uses xfce rather then Gnome or KDE. I did have to install Open Office and The Gimp. Open Office because I like to write and the Gimp mostly so I can resize the pictures from my digital Camera.
